KS1 VIDEO: The Very Hungry Caterpillar storytime and craft-along (15mins)

Join storyteller Lucy Walters as she hosts a very special The Very Hungry Caterpillar storytime and craft-along. Eric Carle reads his book The Very Hungry Caterpillar and explain how he makes all the amazing pictures using a special technique called collage! Lucy will then show children how to create their very own collage.

Children will need paper or card, paints or colouring pens, scissors and glue to join in with the craft-along.

Use this video to support minibeasts topic work. art lessons, and develop understanding about different illustration techniques. You can also use the video for storytime and to share the work of Eric Carle and his classic story, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

These videos were streamed as part of the Puffin Festival of Big Dreams, an online event which celebrated the power of children’s imaginations (and Puffin’s 80th birthday) during lockdown 2020. Thank you for dreaming big!
