LIVE Virtual Visits

Inspire reading and creativity in your school this summer with a LIVE Virtual visit, taking place throughout the month of June! Beaming direct into classrooms across the country, children will be treated to a 45-minute webinar LIVE with some of our favourite Puffin authors and illustrators. They'll be leading activities, sharing creative writing secrets and answering pupils' questions. It’s absolutely FREE to participate. Find out more and register your school here https://www.puffinschools.co.uk/meet-an-author/

Pride Month

Celebrate Pride Month this June and increase awareness of the issues faced by the LGBT+ community, building empathy and inclusiveness in your school. These brilliant books from the Extraordinary Lives series will help, shining a light on two influential figures from history - Alan Turing and Freddie Mercury.

10th June Empathy Day

Empathy is needed now more than ever and this year the theme is all about walking in someone else’s shoes.  Exciting online events and helpful toolkits will help you join in the fun and most of all, encourage everyone to READ, CONNECT and ACT for empathy. Order your free toolkit by emailing [email protected] and tune into Empathy Day LIVE to watch videos from Puffin authors Jacqueline Wilson, Rashmi Sirdeshpande and Nathan Bryon

23rd June National Thank a Teacher Day

This year don’t forget National Thank a Teacher Day and make time to celebrate the amazing work teachers do every single day. We have SO much to thank all the brilliant teachers out there for, working throughout lockdown to help children access their learning and then coping with all the myriad Covid restrictions in schools. We're joining the #WaveofThanks campaign and showing our appreciation for the education community. Join us in sharing the message and be part of a huge wave of thanks!

National Writing Day

It’s time to reconnect on National Writing Day also on 23rd June. After months of separation, organisers First Story will be encouraging everyone to build connections through writing. We have tons of great resources to inspire budding young writers – check out the Puffin resources page for access to author videos, fun activities and writing prompts.

Whatever you are doing to celebrate stories this month, we’d love to hear about it! Please contact [email protected] with 'Inspiring Ideas' in the subject line.
