KS2 RESOURCE PACK: The Christmasaurus – Celebrating Difference

What’s the story?

The magical, moving and bestselling first children’s novel from Tom Fletcher. Forget everything you thought you knew about the North Pole, and set off on a Christmas Eve adventure with a boy named William Trundle, an elf named Snozzletrump, Santa Claus (yes! The real Santa Claus!), a nasty piece of work called the Hunter, and a most unusual dinosaur . . .

Multi-talented author Tom Fletcher has also written a musical edition of the book which comes with a full soundtrack of songs so you can read and sing-along. This is available as a book and CD and a digital download. And if you’re looking for another North Pole adventure then ask Santa for a copy of the second book in the series The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch.

This resource pack includes:

You’ll get three fantastic lessons focusing on creating characters, writing rhymes and celebrating differences. Use the extracts to start class discussions and photocopy the character cards and worksheets so pupils can put pen to paper.

Just for fun there is also:

  • Templates for a door hanger, letter to Santa and Christmas cards
  • Sheet music so you can sing-along to ‘I ho-ho-hope it’s Santa’
  • A poster for The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch

A Christmasaurus draw-along video will be available from Monday 9 December and right now you can enjoy this music video for the song ‘Afraid of Heights’ which features on the soundtrack.
