Video: Malala’s Magic Pencil by Malala Yousafzai

Malala Yousafzai, the activist and campaigner who grew up in Swat Valley, Pakistan, came to attention when she was only 11 by writing for BBC Urdu about life under the Taliban.

She is the youngest winner of the Nobel Peace Prize and now attends Oxford University. Here, she speaks about her new children’s book, Malala’s Magic Pencil, which tells her hopeful and empowering story of growing up and wishing for a magic pencil to make positive changes to her world: to make the world more peaceful, to erase poverty, and to create equality.

This video is an author interview with Malala, punctuated with illustrations by Kerascoet, and will inspire young artists, writers and change-makers to find their voices, too.
