Diary Dates: September 2021

4 September 2021

It's back to school time with a busy month of story-inspired celebrations ahead and opportunities to talk about mental health and literacy in the classroom.

LIVE Virtual Visits

Inspire reading and creativity in your school this Autumn with a LIVE Virtual visit, taking place throughout the term. Beaming direct into classrooms across the country, children will be treated to a 45-minute webinar LIVE with some of our favourite Puffin authors and illustrators. They'll be leading activities, sharing creative writing secrets and answering pupils' questions. It’s absolutely FREE to participate. Find out more here.

National Read a Book Day

On 6th September, it's time to get reading with National Read a Book Day, the annual celebration of the habit of reading. This is the ideal time to share stories with your class and encourage them to pick up a book! Not sure what to read? Check out our brilliant booklists for inspiring ideas.

Youth Mental Health Day

Youth Mental Health Day raises awareness of mental health in young people, enabling them to live happy and healthy lives all year round.  On 7th September, it's time to help young people #StrideForward towards positive mental health and our whole-school assembly packs will help you start the all-important conversation.

International Literacy Day

More relevant than ever this year, International Literacy Day takes place on 8th September, as designated by UNESCO. Marking the importance of literacy to all, use this event to encourage reading and writing, taking inspiration from our book-themed resource packs.

Whatever you are doing to celebrate stories this month, we’d love to hear about it! Please contact [email protected] with 'Inspiring Ideas' in the subject line.
